A thorough assessment of your physical and mental state during the intake process is a crucial part of your treatment. We begin with an initial assessment that creates your basic psycho-social diagnosis. What are you experiencing each day? What are your symptoms? What are the primary foods in your diet? How well do you sleep? By analyzing the information from this intake interview, our clinical director will choose a battery of tests based on the symptoms you reported. These tests are designed to pinpoint exactly what is going on inside your body and brain and how these occurrences are affecting or causing your physical, mental and emotional symptoms. It is this confluence of symptoms, toxins, and other biological data that allow the Spero clinical team to correctly identify your illness, design an efficient treatment plan and then take steps to implement it successfully.
The first 30 days of your time with us at Spero will be intense. If you need to detox off of drugs, alcohol or prescription medications, then that is the first priority. We stand by you through the entire process and help to alleviate any withdrawal symptoms or pain you may experience. When you are able, you will undergo an extensive evaluation and assessment process that includes a psychiatric evaluation, a metabolic assessment, possibly a hormone panel, and a comprehensive set of neural tests and scans. Experts in a number of disciplines will analyze the results of these tests, confer and diagnose the disorders you are facing. From there, you will begin a personalized diet, fitness regime, therapy sessions, group meetings and appointments all organized to fit into your unique schedule.
If the first 30 days is solely focused on regaining your physical health and learning how to assimilate into a new lifestyle and treatment plan, then the next 30 days teaches you how to take that knowledge and integrate it into your normal, day-to-day life. Slowly, you will spend less time on the grounds of Spero Retreat and more time in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, or wherever your family and work commitments take you. You will be accompanied by a Spero staff companion at all times so that your safety and wellbeing are always accounted for. However, should you feel that you need more time to recuperate, you will never be pushed to take on anything for which you do not feel completely prepared.
As you continue to heal and acclimate yourself to balancing work and family while continuing to treat your illness, you may feel more ready to re-enter society. If you prefer to stay on the grounds and take advantage of the serene, stress-free environment, we have sober living facilities available. If you would like to return to work or home in another part of the country but would like the support of Spero staff with you, that will be arranged. If you prefer to set up a local network of physicians, psychiatrists, counselors, and specialists outside of Spero, we will assist you with that as well. Simply put, whatever you need to remain healthy and strong and to continue taking care of yourself and stay well, your clinical team at Spero will make it happen.
