Consider this: when your doctor comes in to see you, he or she may require tests and blood draws and do a physical examination to accurately diagnose you before deciding upon appropriate treatment. At Spero Treatment Center, we feel that the generic treatment of addiction and other medical issues without regard to the individual experience is unacceptable. You deserve much more than a cursory hour-long interview followed by standardized treatment schedules. The bottom line is that your symptoms and issues with addiction can be attributable to underlying causes—metabolic disorders, hormonal imbalances, blocked blood flow. These causes simply cannot be determined unless you are tested. Spero Treatment is serious about the initial evaluation and assessment process and take it as far as necessary to rule out any and all disorders and diseases.
Though you will experience an intake interview upon your arrival at our 10-acre retreat outside of Beverly Hills, your evaluation does not stop there. Over the next three to four days, you will undergo a series of tests based upon your psychiatric and physical symptoms. These tests will be different for everyone and may include brain scans and other neural testing, hormone panels, blood draws, and urine tests. Most will begin with a metabolic panel. Many will experience a SPECT scan. The end result is a highly individualized treatment plan that is created specifically for you based upon the medical data that we retrieve from you when you arrive.
The variety of clinical and therapeutic services available to those who come to stay with us on the Spero estate are as vast as the medical and psychological issues that we treat. Once you have completed the multi-disciplinary assessment process, our team of clinical specialists will be able to assess where you are and what you need based on the information they glean from your tests. The treatment plan they devise for you will be chock full of services that will speak specifically to your diagnosis and work together to provide you with a full and complete treatment.
For example, if your issues include addiction to pain medication, alcohol or other drugs, you will go through a supervised detoxification before you begin your comprehensive intake and evaluation. Medication management (if needed) will begin immediately, as will your private sessions with your personal therapist, sessions that will continue throughout the duration of your stay.
Once the results of your tests are in and our clinical team has planned out a thorough treatment, you may begin any number of therapies including psychotherapy and psycho-educational groups that address specific aspects of your illness; family therapy to assist you in rebuilding interpersonal relationships and educating your loved ones about the issues you are facing; and life coaching sessions that help you to plan and organize your life according to the treatment of your diagnoses and identify daily obstacles and alternative choices.
